J.Z. Schafer is a poet, essayist, and podcaster from Redding, California.

He is the co-editor of the Silver Door, and the author of Golgonooza. He hosts a podcast called Golgonooza on YouTube.

His contributions to the Symbolic World website include participating in the Symbolic World Collective’s omnibus article “‘Where Two of You Gather, There Am I’: On the Symbolism of the SW Summit.”
